Brazil Club Senior Dinner 2016
The Brazil Club had its 2016 farewell dinner on May 11, 2016 at the Brazilian restaurant that opened last month in New Haven. We had dinner for one last time before our 2016 seniors graduate and our visiting students go back to Brazil. We wish all the best to all of you who are leaving! You'll be deeply missed!
Corruption as a Business Model: Petrobras and Politics in Brazil
We had a conversation with Deltan Dallagnol, one of the lead prosecutors of the Brazilian Lava Jato operation. There were over 160 people confirmed in the event. Thank you to everyone who attended the talk! Lava Jato is an operation being carried out by the Federal Police of Brazil. Initially a money laundering investigation, it has expanded to cover allegations of corruption at the state-controlled oil company Petrobras. Event organized and sponsored by: Yale Law School Latin American Series, Latino Leadership Association at Yale SOM, Yale University Office of International Affairs and Brazil Club at Yale University. The political views expressed at this event are of sole responsibility of the speaker. The sponsoring groups are apolitical and non-partisan organizations.

Harvard/Yale Game 2015 - Brazilian Mixer
Once every two years, The Game is held at Yale. Harvard kids come to the best of all Ivies (a.k.a. Yale) to enjoy the fun they can't have in Cambridge, MA. Anyway, rivalry aside, the Portuguese speaking population grew a lot at both of our universities in 2015, and it was a pleasure to get Brazilian undergrads and Portuguese speaking friends together as we do every year the night before The Game. Cheers to years of friendship to come!

Fall 2015 Reception for Students of Portuguese
Interested in Portuguese, internships in Brazil during winter or summer breaks, studying abroad in Brazil, connecting to Portuguese speakers on campus? We got you covered! The Portuguese Department had a reception for students of Portuguese to learn about the department opportunities, and the members of the Brazil Club and and of the Portuguese Association were there. We provided pão de queijo and brigadeiro, and the department got us guaraná, quibe and paçoca! What else could you ask for on a Thursday afternoon? A huge shout out to Nathalya and JP who also helped our board making the food from 12 to 3 pm!

Friends & Feijoada 2015
Once again, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) promoted an event with Brazilian food to update Brazilians (and non-Brazilians too!) about the Yale-Brazil relationship. The event, held at OISS, had the presence of undergrads, grad students, visiting students, Yale faculty members, Hartford Brazilian Consulate officers, OIA representatives, family members of grad students and more! Concert of Instrumental Samba and Choro
Davenport College organized a concert of samba and choro for the Yale community. The Brazilian Guitar Duo, Rogério Souza and Edinho Gerber, played in front a crowd in the Davenport Common Room and taught us about the origins of Brazilian music.

Brazil vs. USA Soccer Screening
On September 8th, the Brazilian national soccer team scored 4x1 against the US. The Brazil Club was there to watch the match. Props to Davi Lemos for reserving the Saybrook TV Room and getting the snacks. Check out the pictures!
First Dinner of the 2015-2016 Academic Year
Is this a Brazil Club revolution at Yale? The Brazil Club Board made pão de queijo to celebrate the first dinner of the academic year and the Brazilian Independence Day. Thank you to all Brazilian students and Portuguese speakers who came and made this the biggest Brazil Club Dinner that we've ever had! Bulldog Days 2015
During Bulldog Days, we had a reception in the Pierson buttery/student kitchen for the Brazilian pre-frosh who came all the way across the American continent to visit Yale. We had brigadeiro and pão de queijo, as well as good conversation in Portuguese. Welcome to Yale, Class of 2019!

Pierson Master's Tea with JetBlue/Azul Founder David Neeleman
On March 5th, the Pierson Master's House received David Neeleman, Brazilian-American Founder and CEO of JetBlue and Azul Airlines for a Master's Tea organized by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and supported by the Brazil Club at Yale University. Master Davis was off to Egypt for his research, so the conversation was conducted by Shana Schneider PC'00. Mr. Neeleman talked about entrepreneurship and the differences related to building a company from the ground up in the US and in Brazil.
Harvard/Yale Game 2014 - Brazilian Mixer
This year, the Harvard/Yale Game was at Harvard, and we all know that the game is the least important part of "The Game". On the Friday before the game we had a Brazilian Mixer with the Brazilians from both Harvard and Yale. Props to Harvard Undergraduate Brazilian Association for hosting this great joint event with the Brazil Club at Yale, and for providing the space, as well as pão de queijo and coxinha that we missed so much!
Saybrook Master's Tea with World Fellow Vivianne Naigeborin
The Saybrook Master, Paul Hudak, hosted a Master's Tea with the Brazilian Yale World Fellow Vivianne Naigeborin. Vivianne is a pioneer on social impact investing and she talked about entrepreneurship, investing in developing countries, social responsibility and the business environment in her home country, Brazil. The Brazil Club helped promoting the event within the Brazilian and undergraduate community on campus.

All of whom had some connection to Brazil! We think that everyone enjoyed the OIA invite to eat some feijoada, banana frita, arroz, pudim and farofa with lots of guaraná.

Yale has an extracurricular activities bazaar every year to get the freshmen involved in the hundreds of clubs ran by undergrads around here. The Brazil Club table was a huge success and we got a lot of people involved. Check it out!

Bulldog Days 2014
During Bulldog Days, the pre-frosh from Brazil had the opportunity to meet with current Brazilian Yale undergrads to talk about life and academics at Yale. The meeting was at the Stiles kitchen and we cooked a lot of brigadeiro!
Lunch with Zeca Camargo
Zeca Camargo, Brazilian journalist who presents some of the most watched Brazilian TV shows, came to Yale for a Master's Tea. During the afternoon, he took an hour to have lunch with Brazilian students at Yale. Check it out!
ISO World Cup 2014
The International Students Organization (ISO) promoted a Soccer World Cup among cultural organizations. The Brazil Club, contrary to popular belief, wasn't that good at soccer and was eliminated on the first round, but we had a lot of fun! Take a look at the pictures!
Harvard/Yale Game 2013 - Brazilian Mixer
The Harvard/Yale Game 2014 was held at Yale. In order to integrate the Brazilians from both schools, we promoted a Brazilian mixer in the evening before the game. We had pão-de-queijo and guaraná! Harvard might have won the game, but we know Yalies always win when it comes to having fun.
Orquestra Jovem das Gerais Concert
The Yale Department of Spanish and Portuguese in association with the Brazil Club brought the Orquestra Jovem das Gerais to play at Yale during their tour in the US. The orchestra is from the city of Contagem and composed by kids and teens who are taught music in areas of social vunerability.
Calhoun Master's Tea with Gilberto Gil
Musical revoluntionary, International pop star and Brazil's former Minister of Culture, Gilberto Gil came to Yale in 2012 and met the Brazilians who studied here at the time.
